Just realized I was using the wrong screwdriver on shutter assemblies for 6 years
Back in 2018 at my old shop in Pittsburgh, I only used JIS screwdrivers for everything, thinking they were close enough to Phillips. Last month a Canon AE-1 shutter plate came in with stripped heads, and a buddy pointed out those tiny slotted screws actually need a proper spanner or flathead with the right width. Switched to a set of precision flatheads and jewelers tools, now disassembly takes half the time and no more cams getting chewed up. Anyone else stuck on one driver type for too long before realizing the fix?

Oh man, that hits different. I did something similar with torque wrenches on bicycle cranks for years before someone showed me I was using the wrong tool entirely. I felt so dumb because I thought I had it all figured out. But once you switch to the right thing, it's like your hands finally understand what they're doing. You stop forcing stuff, and everything just clicks into place. It's wild how we get locked into a habit and just keep making the same mistake over and over. Glad you found the fix though, that stripped screw feeling is the worst.
