Handed out flyers on the quad, got chased by a guy with a megaphone

Last Tuesday I set up a free speech table next to the student union and started handing out flyers about parking fees, which somehow triggered a frat dude with a megaphone yelling about my 'agenda'. My trick was to literally bring a cardboard cutout of the First Amendment text and tape it to the table, and after 20 minutes he gave up and a philosophy professor bought me coffee. Has anyone else found that just making the rules visible in a silly way actually shuts down the loudest hecklers?

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at people dragging actual law texts into arguments, figured it was just for show or whatever. But after seeing a buddy do something similar at a town hall meeting, I get it now, there's something about holding up the actual words that makes the loudest person lose steam. It's like they can't yell at a piece of paper without looking dumb, so they just kinda deflate. Plus it's funny as hell watching them try to argue with the Constitution itself. Might have to steal your cardboard cutout idea next time my HOA tries to pull something.
