Rant: Spent $120 on a guest speaker who canceled 10 minutes before the event

Booked a well-known free speech advocate to talk at our campus forum in Lincoln, Nebraska. Paid $120 deposit and promoted it for three weeks. He never showed, just sent a text saying 'weather issues' while it was sunny and 60 degrees. Has anyone else gotten burned by a last-minute campus speaker cancellation and actually gotten their money back?
