Interviewer laughed at my answer about turning down a promotion

Last Tuesday in Phoenix I told a hiring manager I left a supervisor role because I hated doing performance reviews, and she snorted coffee through her nose before saying well at least you're honest, has anyone else ever had an interviewer crack up at something you thought was totally normal?

and honestly that coffee snort thing might be the best review you ever get. I had a similar moment when I told a hiring guy I quit my last job because I couldn't handle the weekly one on ones where I had to fake enthusiasm about Sarah's spreadsheet formatting. He just stared at me for like ten seconds then said "okay but can you do data entry" and we moved on. The trick is to own it like you did, because pretending you loved managing people when you obviously didn't will just get you hired into another job you hate. I found that being upfront about what you won't do actually makes interviewers trust you more, since most people lie through their teeth and they can smell it. Just make sure you have a follow up ready like "I'm better at coaching than judging" so they see you still got leadership skills, just not the paperwork part.
