Finally figured out why my miter saw cuts were drifting after 2 years of fighting it

I mean, "fighting it for 2 years" hit me hard because that's exactly what I've been doing with my saw. I've literally replaced blades, checked the fence alignment like ten times, even built a whole new table for it. What was it? The arbor being slightly out of square? The blade washer being upside down? Something dumb like that? I need to know what it was because I'm about to throw my whole saw in the trash after dealing with this for almost as long as you did.

Three weeks ago I finally fixed my saw after almost giving up on it. @skyler_mitchell I'm actually gonna argue the opposite here and say maybe the arbor being out of square is totally normal and you should just work around it. These tools are mass produced and they all have some little imperfections. You can chase perfect alignment forever and still never get it. Check your blade runout with a dial indicator first, most guys skip that step. If it's within a few thousandths just adjust your cutting technique and move on. There's a reason cabinet shops use sliding table saws for precision work instead of miter saws.
