Serious question, has anyone else had issues with the new 'Pro-Grip' framing nailer from Harbor Freight?

I bought one for a deck job last month, cost me about $180. It jammed every 20 nails and the depth adjustment was totally useless, ended up wasting half a day. What's a better budget nailer that won't burn you like this?

Ever try returning it? Holly_perez95's rental idea is smart, but I just kept the box and took mine back after the third jam.

Maybe check if your local tool library rents them out, then you can test a few before buying.

My buddy Dave in Austin tried the tool library thing last year. He grabbed a mid-range one from the DeWalt line, used it like twice, and it jammed so bad on some two-by-fours he almost threw it in the dumpster. The guy at the library told him to clean the blade lube port but he never got around to it. Honestly, I think half these things just need the right technique, not a new machine.
