Customer called me out for sloppy transitions
Guy watched me do a doorway transition and said I was leaving too much loose fiber. He was a retired installer from the 80s. Showed me how to double cut the edge and tuck it tighter with a stair tool. Now I never get callbacks on transition seams. Anyone else get tips from customers?

That old school installer give you any tips on dealing with padding bunching up under doorways? @rowan_butler93 mentioned those wool days - I had a customer once who showed me how to heat up a seam iron for stretching nylon carpet that had wrinkled from humidity. He was a commercial guy from the 70s, ran the thing on medium for ten seconds then pressed the seam. Totally fixed the problem.

Old timers know stuff that's not in any training manual. Dude probably learned that trick from some crusty installer back when carpets were pure wool and staples were the size of railroad spikes.
