TIL my town's library quietly pulled 'Maus' from the graphic novel section

I saw the empty space on the shelf during a visit yesterday, and the librarian just shrugged when I asked about it. Has your local library ever removed a book without any notice?

What happens when they pull a book but don't tell anyone? It just makes people more curious and they find it online anyway. So the quiet removal backfires completely.
