My local paper deleted my comment about a protest after it hit 500 shares

I was just pointing out that the protest organizers had a permit, but the editors called it 'divisive'. Has anyone else seen legitimate facts get removed once a post gains traction?

Remember most papers don't own their comment system, it's run by a third party with its own rules.

My buddy had his fact-check about a city budget meeting deleted once it started getting shared around. They just called it off-topic and locked the thread.

What's the point of a comment section if they censor facts? They don't want the story getting out of hand, so they shut it down. Classic move.
