I cracked 100 covers solo on a Saturday and it felt overrated

Last month I did 102 covers by myself on a busy Saturday night. Everyone in the kitchen kept telling me I should be proud hitting triple digits alone. But honestly I spent the whole shift sweating over tickets and plating mistakes. The food quality definitely dropped after 60 covers and I had three comped entrees. Why do we treat high volume like some kind of badge of honor when it usually hurts the product?

You said "it felt overrated" and honestly that's kind of the whole point right? Like yeah you did 100 covers but you also had three comped entrees and your food quality tanked after 60. I'm always skeptical when people brag about numbers like that without mentioning the real cost. Hitting triple digits doesn't mean much if you're serving slop and losing money on mistakes. Seems like a weird thing to celebrate when the actual product suffers.

Hah, seriously! You hit the nail on the head. People get so caught up in bragging about numbers like it's some kind of achievement, but they conveniently forget to mention the quality tanked and they had to comp stuff. It's like celebrating a car that almost made it to the finish line but caught fire. Honestly, that's not a win in my book.
