Overcooked steak turned me into a believer in resting
Honestly, I used to cut into steak right after cooking. Tbh, it always seemed a bit dry and chewy. Ngl, I thought it was just how I cooked it. But one time I waited a few minutes, and the juice stayed in the meat. Now I never skip resting, and my dishes are way better.

Actually, thicker cuts might need ten minutes or more to rest properly.
