Just learned most Chinese EV batteries can last 500,000 miles before needing replacement
I was reading on a Chinese auto blog that BYD's blade battery is rated for like 1.2 million kilometers of cycle life. That blew my mind since my iPhone battery craps out after 2 years. Has anyone else looked into how long these things actually hold up in real driving conditions?

Man, my phone battery can barely make it through a day of scrolling memes and here these car batteries are laughing at 500k miles. I'd probably mess it up somehow, like accidentally leaving the headlights on for a week. But seriously, I saw a video where a guy tested a used Chinese EV taxi that had 300k miles on it and the battery still held like 85% of its original range. Way better than my laptop that starts wheezing after 2 years of Netflix.

And a buddy of mine actually drives one of those high-mileage EVs for work (he does food delivery around the city, like 150 miles a day) and he's only had to replace a few cells after 4 years. His old Prius hybrid battery died at 120k so he's pretty blown away by the difference, honestly. Makes me wonder if we're all just spoiled by how fast our phone tech becomes useless compared to something that's built to last a decade.
