Hold on, "microns" is actually a unit of measurement (one millionth of a meter), not a typo for "microns" as in small details. It's a common mix-up, but it totally still fits the idea of chasing tiny, pointless precision. Just wanted to clear that up, though the point about wasting effort on tiny things still stands perfectly.
