My first lead hand told me to never trust a digital readout, and I ran with that for 2 years
He came up in the 80s on dials and swore the DRO on our Haas was drifting a thou every few hours, so I re-zeroed everything off an indicator like he taught me. Ended up scrapping a run of 40 bushings in Wichita because the indicator mount had a burr throwing it off by .003, and the DRO was dead nuts the whole time. Any of you still running fully off dials or indicators, or did you make the switch and never look back?
