My son's buddies thought the mill was a giant video game
I was cleaning up after a run. Heard clicking noises from the machine zone. Found three kids around the control. They were pressing buttons like a game console. Had to explain each button moves a sharp tool. Showed them a simple facing operation on some scrap. Now they think machining is cool.

Honestly, that's a scary moment but also kinda awesome they got interested. Did any of them ask to try it for real after you showed them? I'm curious if seeing the actual work changed their view from just button mashing to understanding the skill involved. It's wild how hands-on stuff can click for kids when they see it in action. Makes me wonder if schools should have more shop classes like back in the day.

Remember shop class? I'd probably be the kid who accidentally glues themselves to the project.
