Overhead some guys at a trade show saying CAM software is all the same

I was at a small shop meetup last week and heard these two dudes going back and forth about how Fusion 360 is basically the same as Mastercam if you know G-code. I just stood there sipping my coffee because I've spent the last 6 months retraining on Mastercam for a new job and it's night and day different for 5-axis work. The toolpath control alone takes way more tweaking in Fusion to get right. Has anyone else had to switch software and felt like you were learning the trade all over again?

Yeah those guys must be doing some real simple 2D stuff, because switching from Fusion to Mastercam for 5-axis made me feel like I forgot how to walk.
