PSA: Stop copying tutorials line for line

Spent 3 weeks stuck on a Python project. Followed every tutorial exactly. Nothing worked. Finally I just deleted everything and wrote it my own way. Used print statements to debug step by step. Now I actually understand what my code does. Anyone else hit a wall copying tutorials?
