DAE find it impossible to clean a moka pot properly?

I swear, no matter how hard I scrub, there's always coffee oil stuck in the grooves.

Check the water heat when you wash the pot. Cold water can make the oils stick more. Do you use hot water right after making coffee?

Saw my buddy totally fail to clean his moka pot for months. He finally started soaking it in hot, soapy water right after making coffee. Now his pot looks new with barely any effort.
