PSA: That 'free speech' debate at UCLA last fall turned into a shouting match where a professor got shoved off stage
I was sitting in the third row when three protesters rushed the stage after the speaker mentioned immigration quotas, and the security just stood there for a full 90 seconds before doing anything, so now I always check the event's security plan before I even walk into a campus auditorium has anyone else seen a speaker event go sideways that fast?

Man, it's wild how that same energy shows up everywhere now - I've seen people get just as heated over a parking spot or a grocery line cutting incident, like everyone's always a second away from blowing up these days.

Watching something like that go from zero to chaos that fast is genuinely unsettling. Security should have been on it the second those three stood up and moved, not after people started shouting. The fact that they just stood there for a minute and a half makes me wonder if they even had a real plan for emergencies. That kind of thing sticks with you way after you leave the room. I still get antsy sitting in the middle of a packed lecture hall if someone raises their voice too loud. Sorry you had to be in the middle of all that mess.
