Spent $50 on a ticket to see a speaker my school tried to cancel
Our student group invited a professor who wrote a book on campus politics. The administration said his talk 'might cause trouble' and tried to block the room booking. We pooled cash to rent a space off campus. Hearing him say colleges are scared of their own students was worth every penny. Has your school ever tried to stop a talk over nothing?

Honestly, sometimes the school has a point. They're just trying to keep things calm and avoid a big mess that could hurt the school's name. Maybe they knew something about this guy that you all didn't.

Right, because a school's good name is the top thing to protect. I'm sure the "big mess" they were avoiding was way worse than whatever the guy actually did. Classic move, hide the problem and hope it goes away. That always works out so well for everyone.

Guess they could have shared that info with us.
