Warning: The fight over a campus speaker made me see free speech in a new light

My uni invited someone to talk about tech ethics, but a student group said his past comments were offensive and tried to cancel the event. I watched online as people argued, with some saying no platforming is right and others calling it censorship. It clicked for me that free speech isn't just about letting anyone talk, but about how we react when we disagree. Now I'm stuck wondering if protests help or hurt real conversation on campus.

So much for free speech (or any speech, really).

Exactly, @the_ruby. Let the talk happen and just ask tough questions.
