That $60 'graded comic' I bought on eBay was a total waste

Picked up a slabbed Amazing Spider-Man #300 from a seller in Florida. Paid $60 thinking it was a steal. Turns out the grade was fake, the case was a knockoff. Don't buy graded books without checking the certification number first. Anyone else get burned by fake slabs?

That's exactly what happened to me last year with a copy of X-Men #94. Paid $45 for what I thought was a 9.0 but the label was completely made up and the case didn't even have the CGC logo right. Always pull up the certification on the grading company's website before you even click buy. If the cert number doesn't show up or the book in the picture doesn't match what they're selling, run away fast. Also check the slab itself for little details like the microchannels in the plastic or the official hologram - fakes always mess those up.
