Drysuit valve stuck after a muddy Potomac job last Friday

I came up from a wreck salvage in the Potomac near Alexandria and my exhaust valve was jammed open. Mud gets into the spring mechanism if you don't rinse it right away, and I saw two guys on my crew ignore it until their suits flooded on the next dive. I spent 20 minutes with warm water and a soft brush, then hit it with silicone spray, and it moved smooth again. Do you guys flush your valves after every silt bottom, or just when they start acting up?

Yeah, same here. Used to skip it, now I rinse every time after mud.

Did you ever find the mud messing up your gear before?
