Had to choose between a drysuit with a busted zipper or a wetsuit 3 sizes too small for a 10-day job in Puget Sound
Picked the wetsuit. Worst decision of my career. By day 3 my shoulders were numb and I had rash marks that looked like I got into a fight with a cheese grater. The tender kept calling me 'shrink wrap' because I was so tight in it. Has anyone else gambled on bad gear and regretted it immediately?

Wait, did you ever try doing something similar for 3 days straight with barely any sleep? I remember once I had to help chaperone a field trip for like 36 hours and by the end I was hallucinating coffee cups. It messes with your head in ways you don't expect.
