Kirby Morgan band mask vs. a cheap knockoff - not even close

I spent 6 months diving a generic budget band mask from some online shop, thought I was saving $800. Switched to a real Kirby Morgan SuperLite 17 last month on a job in the Gulf. The difference in comfort after 4 hours underwater is night and day, plus the comms actually work without static. My buddy Dave still uses the knockoff and complains about jaw fatigue by lunch every single shift. Anyone else waste money on a fake before going legit?

Honestly, that jaw fatigue thing is no joke. I read some dive forum post where a guy said the knockoff masks squeeze your head like a vise after hour three, and his buddy's legit Kirby Morgan felt like a pillow. @the_elizabeth you dodged a bullet not trying one of those fakes yourself.

wait you spent six months in a cheap one? man that jaw fatigue thing sounds brutal. i can't even imagine dealing with bad comms on top of that for that long.
