Did your backup just flicker out or did it give you the full blue screen of death? A buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen during a big project in Austin last fall. He was halfway through copying some concert photos to his external drive when the battery just went poof, lost everything. Took him three days to piece it back together from scattered cloud backups he forgot he even had. Now he double checks every time before he plugs anything in, says it's like playing roulette with your data.

Lost a whole playlist of rare live recordings that way back in 2018, still bugs me that I never tracked them all down again. Isn't it funny how we always learn the hard way with backups?
