Shoutout to the guy who brought in a PC that smelled like a wet dog

Last Thursday, this client walks in with a tower that was making a weird buzzing sound. I opened it up and found about a pound of cat hair and dust bunnies clogging the fan and heatsink, plus a dead roach. The smell was unreal. I spent over an hour just cleaning it before I could even start the actual diagnostic. Has anyone else had a machine so dirty it became a biohazard?

You're telling me about that dead roach, and I actually gagged a little reading that. I've seen some rough machines in my time, but a dead bug inside the case is a whole other level. @campbell.evan is right about the throwaway culture stuff, but I think for some people, it's not just about not fixing things. It's like they genuinely don't understand that electronics need basic maintenance, like dusting or keeping them off the floor. I had one guy get defensive when I told him his PC was full of pet hair, like I was attacking his cleaning habits. That microwave thing your neighbor tossed is a perfect example too, people just don't want to deal with the small stuff anymore.

That "throwaway culture" thing is so real. My neighbor just tossed a perfectly good microwave because the door latch was sticky.

Man, that's just how people treat everything they own now. It's like we're in a throwaway culture where no one fixes or cleans anything. They just use stuff until it breaks and then buy a new one. That mindset is why we see computers full of bugs and pet hair. It's a little sad, honestly.
