inVent: I was looking at some old concrete specs from the 70s my boss had in a file box.

inFinally tried a different way to cut my drawer fronts and it saved me hours
I get the router idea, but that just adds another setup and a bunch of dust collection. For simple straight cuts on sheet goods, a good track saw is hard to beat. It's one tool, one cut, done. My table saw sled collects dust for jobs like that now.

inI thought talking to my plants was silly until my basil in Austin grew twice as big.
Honestly, I talk to my plants just so I don't feel like a crazy person when I'm alone in my apartment. My spider plant is thriving, but that might be because I finally remembered to water it. I'm pretty sure my compliments are just for my own benefit.

inThought I could knock out a flange weld in an hour, it took the whole shift
Ha, "measure three times" is the worst! It sounds good but it's so slow. My real quick check is just doing the opposite thing first. Like, if I'm checking if a shelf is level, I'll purposely tilt it way off and then bring it back. That one big wrong move makes the right spot way easier to find. It saves a ton of tiny adjustments. What do you actually do when you're in a hurry?
