Update: started keeping a junk cable bin on my cart, and my bench setup time got cut in half
Three years back I was at a shop in Tucson and the lead tech had this milk crate of old cables under his bench that he never threw out. I used to give him grief about it until a client came in needing a weird 4 pin power cable for a old Gateway tower, and he just reached in and pulled one out in 10 seconds. Last week I finally set up my own bin and I pulled a SATA cable and a VGA adapter out of it during one job instead of digging through boxes for 20 minutes. What do you all keep in your scrap pile, and does anyone else feel bad tossing good cables?
