Talked to a retired electrician about 5G towers last week and it threw me off

Honestly, I was at a garage sale on Sunday and this older guy started chatting while I was looking at some old tools. He worked for the power company for like 30 years. Out of nowhere he said he thinks the real concern with 5G isn't the radiation stuff people freak out about, but how easy it would be for someone to mess with the grid through them. He told me about a time back in 2008 when a single bad relay caused a blackout across three blocks in his town. That hit different because he wasn't some YouTube guy, he just fixed lines for a living. I've been reading about smart grid vulnerabilities since then and it's wild how little security is built into some of these new towers. Has anyone else talked to someone in the industry who actually works on this stuff?
