Switched from paper bids to a tablet in Boise, now I won't go back
Used to hand-write every estimate on yellow pads, clients would lose them or I'd forget the line item for disposal fees. Started using a cheap Android tablet with a measuring app last spring, and I've cut my bid time from 45 minutes to 15. Anyone else find that going digital actually makes you look more legit to homeowners, or is it just me?

Wait till your tablet dies mid-estimate and see how quick you're back to paper.

My uncle runs a landscaping crew in Fresno and he scanned every bid he wrote for 12 years, so when a customer tried to claim he never quoted them a price, he had the proof on his phone and they paid up. That paper trail is the real reason I switched, not the speed. Tablet keeps me honest and the customer honest too.
