My old foreman told me to always check the boom angle sensor myself, not trust the display. He was dead right.

Wait, wasn't the real lesson to trust your own checks over any sensor? The display just reads the sensor, so if the sensor's off, the display is wrong too. Your foreman's point was about verifying the physical reality yourself.

But the display is what you see. If it's wrong, you have to know why. The sensor being off is the root cause, but the wrong number on screen is the actual problem you catch first.
