Warning: Dropped $400 on a fancy anti-two-block system for my Liebherr...
It saved me from a nasty cable catch on a tight job downtown last Tuesday where I couldn't see the load line, but the constant false alarms from tree branches nearly made me toss it in the river has anyone else had that problem with ultrasonic sensors on crowded sites?

Oh man, that's exactly what I ran into with mine on a residential job last month. The sensors kept freaking out from some low-hanging willow branches and I ended up having to override the system half a dozen times just to finish the lift. It's a real pain because the tech works great for cable avoidance but then stuff like leaves or flagging tape sets it off and you're stuck silencing alarms instead of working.

I gotta push back a little here. The false alarms aren't a flaw in the system, they're just part of the deal when you're working in tight spots with trees and other junk around. I've run my ultrasonic anti-two-block on a dozen different jobs this month alone and I'd rather get a few false alarms from willow branches than risk snapping a cable because I couldn't see what was happening. You can always silence it real quick or use the manual override button if you know the branch isn't a real hazard. That one second it takes to hit the mute is way better than replacing a $400 cable or worse, hurting someone.
