Bought a funeral plot for my dad and the cemetery staff laughed at my request

Honestly, last month in Nashville I went with my mom to pick out a burial spot for my dad, he's still alive but we're planning ahead. The sales guy walked us around and I asked if we could get a plot facing west so he could watch the sunsets. He and his coworker both snickered like I asked for a hot tub. My mom got red and said it was a lovely idea. They said it's not a thing people request, western plots are usually last to sell. We bought it anyway. Why is it weird to want a view for someone you love? Has anyone else gotten a strange reaction to something personal about death planning?

They actually snickered at you? That's unbelievable... I mean, who does that when a family is buying a plot for their dad? The sunset thing isn't weird at all, it's sweet. People put all kinds of personal touches on graves, like benches facing a certain tree or a spot near a pond. You'd think cemetery workers would've heard way stranger requests than a nice view. Honestly, sounds like they were just lazy and wanted to move on to the next sale. Good on you for sticking with it, your dad's gonna have the best sunsets in the whole place.
