Changed my stance on salary talk after a team lunch

I used to think asking about pay was just rude. But at lunch, a new hire mentioned his wage, and we all compared notes. Found out some of us were getting shorted. Now I see why some cultures avoid this topic, but hiding it helps no one. It cleared up a lot of confusion for our crew.

Sometimes the system is just slow, not broken. People might be quiet because things are actually fine.

Yeah @theray that "silence lets bad systems run" line hits hard. People stay quiet because speaking up is risky or just feels pointless. What specific system are you seeing that happen with right now?
