My uncle changed my mind about arranged marriage after one conversation at a diner in Chicago

I always thought arranged marriage was old-fashioned and forced, but my uncle shared how his parents set him up with my aunt after they both agreed to meet three times. He said it was like going on a job interview for love, but with everyone's honest intentions out in the open from day one. Has anyone else had a family member explain a cultural taboo in a way that shifted your whole view?

A buddy from college had the same thing happen with his dad and arranged dating. His dad set him up with someone from the same community after just one phone call. He said the best part was skipping all the guessing games about whether she wanted kids or a career.
