Builder in Tulsa told me spray foam is a mistake in our climate, but the energy rater says the opposite
Last week I walked a framing job in Tulsa with a builder who has 22 years in, and he said he will not put spray foam in any house he builds here because it traps moisture and rots the sheathing. Two days later the energy rater on the same project told my client spray foam is the only way to hit the HERS score they want. Now I am stuck in the middle of a $40k insulation decision with two guys I trust saying opposite things. Has anyone here built in zone 3 with spray foam and come back 5 years later to check the sheathing?
