Shoutout to the framer who caught my window layout mistake last Tuesday
I was over at a build site in Greenville last week, checking on a custom house we started back in April. The framer, this older guy named Joe, pulled me aside and pointed out that my plans had a window 6 inches too low for the counter height. I double-checked my drawings and he was dead on. Has anyone else ever had a contractor save them from a dumb design error like that?

Joe saved your bacon there. Nothing worse than a window line that fights the counter height. Good framers are worth their weight in gold for catches like that.

Used to think framing was mostly just hammering nails and following a plan. But this kind of thing really shows how much a good framer pays attention to the little details. A window line that fights the counter height is a mess you might not notice until cabinets go in. Then you're either cutting countertops or living with a weird gap. Not something you want to explain to a homeowner after they paid for nice counters. Definitely gives me more respect for the guys who catch stuff like that before it becomes a problem.
