PSA: I just found out over 40% of churches in my county don't have fire safety inspections on file

I was looking up public records for a story and stumbled on this stat from the county clerk's office in rural Oklahoma. How is that even legal when they pack in hundreds of people every Sunday?

Dude, thats actually terrifying. Fire codes exist for a reason, especially in places with that many people packed in. Church or not, that's a safety hazard waiting to happen.

Packed in hundreds of people every Sunday" - man, that's exactly what gets me. You'd think with that many folks crammed into one building, someone would at least check the fire alarms work. I get that churches are special places, but a fire doesn't care about that.
