Was dead set against hiring a social media manager for my shop until I saw the numbers
I fought paying someone $500 a month for 6 months, but after my neighbor's bakery started pulling in 30% more foot traffic from Instagram alone, I finally caved. First month in and my Saturday sales jumped by $1,200 - anyone else stubborn about outsourcing this stuff?

Dipping a toe in first is smart though - maybe try a freelance social media person on a trial basis for 2 months instead of jumping straight to a full monthly retainer. Helps you see real traffic changes without locking into a long contract. That way you can compare numbers properly before committing more cash.

You gotta ask yourself, what's your time actually worth? When I finally ran the numbers on how many hours I was wasting on social media posts that went nowhere, the $500 made sense pretty quick. @emma768 mentioned trying a trial run, and that's solid advice since you can test the waters without going all in. Just make sure you set clear goals with them upfront, like what kind of engagement or leads you're expecting each week. Some managers just post pretty pictures without caring if it drives sales, so watch for that. The bakery next door probably had a specific strategy, so ask your new hire to show you their plan before the month ends. If the first month already paid for itself, you're on the right track just stay on top of the numbers.
