3 years ago I put a $12 fuel filter on a customer's 7.3 and it came back last Tuesday with the same no start
Back in 2021 I was hustling side jobs out of my driveway in Modesto and a guy brought me his 7.3 Powerstroke that would crank forever and never fire, so I threw the cheapest filter I could get from the parts house down the street and sent him on his way. Last Tuesday he calls me up, same truck, same no start, and it turns out the cheap filter had been letting crap past the media into the injectors the whole time. Anyone else learn the hard way that the cheap filter costs you a customer for life, or am I the only one who had to eat that mistake?
You really think a $12 filter from the parts house down the street is what killed those injectors? Seven years and who knows how many miles, that filter is the least of that truck's problems, the pump and injectors were probably beat before you ever touched it.
