Took me 3 hours to figure out why my layers kept merging in Procreate
I was working on a portrait and every time I tried to add a shadow layer it would clip into the one below. Turns out I had accidentally turned on "force merge" in the gesture controls and didn't notice for like 2 full hours. Anyone else run into a stupid settings issue that wasted way more time than it should have?

Respectfully disagree a bit here. Force merge in gesture controls has saved me way more hours than it's ever cost me, once you get the hang of where it's at.

Bro that exact thing happened to me with a different setting, it's such a pain when you know the fix is simple but can't find it. Check your brush preview next time too, sometimes it won't let you merge layers if that's acting up.
