The week Twitter shadowbanned my pest control puns was honestly kind of funny

Back in June 2022, I posted a joke about roaches being the original hipsters (they were into vintage everything) and got hit with a 7 day shadowban. I know it's silly, but that week my engagement dropped by 80% across 3 accounts I run for local business pages around Tampa. Has anyone else noticed these bans feel random or targeted?

Are you sure it wasn't just the algorithm changing? Twitter has been a total mess since Elon took over, so I think you're giving them way too much credit for being organized enough to specifically target puns about bugs. It sounds more like your accounts got caught in a wave of spam filtering that was way too broad. I run a handful of local pages myself and have seen engagement drop off a cliff for no clear reason, but that's just how the site works now. You're better off focusing on quality content than worrying about a shadowban that probably wasn't even about the joke itself.

Maybe my bug puns triggered the spam filter because they were actually that bad, lol.
