Warning: that shadowban checker I used got my account flagged instead

So I got caught between two choices. Either ignore the algorithm suppression on my posts or use one of those detection tools to see if I was being shadowbanned. I picked the tool because I was losing engagement and wanted answers. Big mistake. The tool's activity actually triggered a spam flag on my account and I got suspended for 3 days over some automated scraping nonsense. Has anyone else had a third party service backfire like that on Twitter? Trying to figure out what to avoid next time.

Got burned by one of those engagement tracking apps on Instagram back in 2022. The thing kept liking random posts on my behalf and I woke up to a 7 day ban with no warning. Learned the hard way that most of these tools are just scraping your data anyway so I just let the algorithms do their thing now.

Grabbed a random "engagement booster" for Facebook years ago and woke up to my account posting about some crypto scam I've never heard of. Had to explain to my aunt why I was trying to sell her on "LunaCoin" at 3 AM. These tools are like trusting a raccoon to detail your car - sure looks helpful at first but you're gonna find trash everywhere and get scratched up. Honestly, I've learned to just post and walk away. Let the algorithm do whatever it wants, beat it with good content or don't bother.
