Poured $700 into boosted posts, Google ads gave me triple the leads

Last quarter I ran a local promo for my landscaping clients. Facebook boosted posts ate $700 in 10 days, got me 3 likes and zero calls. Switched $300 to Google search ads targeting my exact zip code near Austin, TX. Got 9 solid leads in a week. I always figured social was where everyone hangs out, but people who are ready to buy are typing in a search bar, not scrolling memes. Anyone else see this gap between platform spend and actual conversions?
