Just read that over 40% of digital nomads in Lisbon are from the US now

I was looking at a report from Nomad List this morning and that number really stood out. It feels like the city is becoming a major hub for American remote workers, more than I thought. Has anyone else noticed this shift in the places they stay?

Forty percent is a crazy high number (like, almost half the people there). It makes sense why the cafes are starting to feel like tech hubs now. That's a huge shift for the local scene.

Man, that tracks. Honestly, I was there last fall and half the cafes sounded like a Brooklyn co-working space. Tbh I tried to order a coffee and the guy in front of me was just complaining about his startup's Series A funding. Felt like I needed a VPN and a MacBook just to fit in.

Yeah, it's gotten so bad... I was at that place on 10th last month and overheard two people arguing about their burn rate. Like, just drink your oat milk latte. Did you notice if it was all just one type of place, or has it spread to the old-school diners too? I'm worried my favorite spot for a cheap breakfast is gonna start offering kombucha on tap next.
