My portable monitor just died on me in a cafe in Medellin

Screen went black right in the middle of a client call. Had to finish the meeting on my tiny laptop screen. Anyone have a reliable brand they swear by for travel?

Ugh that's the worst. Did you check if it's the cable or the power bank? I had a monitor act dead but it was just a bad USB-C cable. For a new one, I've been using an Asus ZenScreen for two years. It's been through airports and coffee shops, still works. The built-in cover that turns into a stand is a lifesaver.

Wait, so you're telling me my monitor might just be having a cable crisis? lmao. That's like the tech version of "did you try turning it off and on again.

Wait, @casey_fox68 are you saying you saw a story about a monitor fix that simple too? I read somewhere that a lot of "dead" portable monitors just need a full power cycle with a different cable, like you gotta hold the power button for 10 seconds. My roommate's monitor went blank and we swapped it with a Thunderbolt cable from his laptop charger and it came right back, wild how that works.
