Shoutout to that $60 limiter plugin I ignored for way too long
Picked up Pro-L 2 on a whim during the Black Friday sale and it saved a mix I was about to scrap. Has anyone else found one tool that just clicked way later than it should have?

Oh man, that reminds me of when I finally caved on that $200 delay plugin everyone was talking about. Thought it was hype, but now it's the only delay I use for anything with a slow tempo. Funny how you fight it for so long then it's just... there. Saving mixes is the best feeling though.

Actually that $200 delay plugin is probably NOT the only one you'll end up using. I said the SAME thing about my first expensive reverb, swore it was endgame. Then I found out the hard way that different tempos need different character - that slow tempo setting is great for ambient stuff but for tight 16th notes at 140bpm it turns to MUSH. The secret is to save a few custom presets for fast tempos, shorten the feedback and roll off some highs. Then it works for everything. I've got three delay plugins now that all cost more than that and they ALL get used depending on the track. Saving mixes is absolutely the best feeling though, especially when you can recall that exact delay sound from scratch in ten seconds.
