LED shop lights vs fluorescents in my garage, what a difference
Honestly, I kept putting off swapping out the old fluorescent tubes in my garage for years. Finally did it last weekend after the ballast started buzzing like a scared bee. I grabbed a pair of 4-foot LED shop lights for about $35 each from a big box store on sale. The light output is way cleaner, no flicker, and I can actually see the rust spots on my workbench now. Took me under 2 hours to wire them in, and my electric bill next month should drop a bit too. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed the startup lag is gone in cold weather?
My buddy swapped his last winter and swore the old fluorescents took forever to wake up when it was freezing, these LEDs fired right up. He said the only downside was noticing every cobweb in the corner now.
