So I tried to make a custom headboard and it's... leaning

I used old pallets to build a headboard for my bed. Now it tilts forward like it's trying to give me a hug. I might need to rethink my woodworking skills.

Pallets warp like crazy if they weren't stored flat.

Actually depends on the wood and how it was built, in my experience. Some of those cheap, soft pine ones will definitely twist up if you look at them wrong. But a well-made hardwood pallet can take a lot more abuse, @paigeg52. I get why it's frustrating when they fail, though. Storage matters, but the starting material matters just as much. I've had some sit outside for months and stay pretty much flat.

Ever have that happen to you? It's so frustrating when they bend and become useless... just adds more work to deal with.
